Two-year-old Pure Storage, the latest flash start-up, shook off its cloak of invisibility Tuesday and showed off a reportedly oversubscribed $30 million C round for its all-flash enterprise array technology.  That makes $55 million altogether.

The new money was put in by Samsung, the largest flash maker, as well as Redpoint Ventures, Greylock Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures and angel investors…

IBM helps resellers excel in cloud computing by providing secure and reliable Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (Paas), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions, which enable agile collaboration and simplify the deployment and technology needed to build and manage cloud environments.

"Tech Data has aligned with IBM to offer cloud solutions that enable resellers to implement a private cloud, as well as offer them the opportunity to sell IBM public cloud services such as Smart Cloud Enterprise and Managed Backup Cloud," said Chuck Bartlett, vice president and general manager of Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) at Tech Data. Amazon Web Services this morning made a new pitch for running web apps on its cloud computing platform, introducing a feature called ElastiCache that promises to improve the performance of web apps such as social networks, games and media-sharing sites.

In basic terms, the system uses server infrastructure more efficiently to help web apps keep key bits of data in memory, for faster access than retrieving them from a disk-based database…

Cloud computing start-up Wanova Inc. has raised $10 million in its second financing round from Israeli funds Greylock Partners and Carmel Ventures, and US fund Opus Capital. Wanova is considered a hot cloud computing company and the investors did not bring in a new investor to prevent dilution of their stakes.

Wanova will use the proceeds to build global sales and support teams to service the surge in demand for the company’s holistic Desktop as a Service flagship product, Mirage. Last month, the company received a patent for its product, which provides enterprises with tools for the efficient management of terminals…
