Autonomy Unveils New Release of WorkSite

Built on Autonomy’s unique Meaning Based Computing technology, WorkSite provides a shared environment for storing business content and a system for tracking updates, milestones, and communications. Documents — both paper and electronic — records, e-mail messages, and other media are consolidated in a central library, making them easier to find, share, and reuse. Version control, automated notifications, and advanced search options streamline execution and simplify the handoff of work among users. Business users and professionals manage access and security to workspaces, reducing the demands on the IT organization.

New capabilities in WorkSite 9.0 include:

WorkSite Mobility

Organizations are looking for technologies that enable their workforce to be productive, while they are on the move. WorkSite 9 allows users to access the same content inside or outside the office through a platform and device of their choice, whether they are disconnected on a flight; telecommuting with a broadband connection or even if they are limited to access via a mobile device. Through an innovative user interface, mobile professionals can now interact with files, find and view documents and attach files to emails to collaborate with colleagues and clients wherever they are.

Security Without Third-Party Software

Privacy acts, such as HIPAA in the U.S. and other privacy laws around the world demand increased protection on certain types of content. In addition, recent infraction of business data by hackers has prompted increased vigilance within law firms. WorkSite 9 enables customers to designate certain types of content within the store as "sensitive". This sensitive content is automatically encrypted by the WorkSite platform for storage without the need for any third-party software, allowing law firms to comply with new regulations and protect sensitive customer data from cyber attacks.

Next-Generation Private Cloud Computing Platform

Business users have come to expect that their data can be made available securely anywhere at any time, while IT departments are looking to consolidate data centers and provide complete redundancy via cloud-based services. WorkSite 9 delivers the next-generation cloud computing platform that gives customers the flexibility to have their own private cloud or leverage Autonomy’s cloud services for document management, scanning and workflow.
