While it is important that technology providers are beginning to grapple with the requirements to move seamlessly from a private cloud to a public cloud, the assumption here is that the workload owner is willing to utilize a public cloud multi-tenant solution for their workload.  I’m not sure we’re there yet…

Citrix acquires VMLogix, expands OpenCloud platform

Voltaire Announces High Density 10 GbE Switch for Efficient Scaling of Cloud Networks

Voltaire Ltd., a provider of scale-out data center fabrics, introduced the Voltaire Vantage 6048, a low-latency, high-performance Layer 2/3 top-of-rack switch optimized for cloud computing.

The switch features 48 ports of 10GbE line rate connectivity in a space-saving 1U device, Voltaire said in a release.

CA Cloud Spending Spree Hits Near $1 Billion With Arcot Acquisition

CA Technologies’ roughly $1 billion bet on cloud computing continued Monday with the $200 million cash purchase of Arcot Systems Inc, an authentication and fraud prevention player in the cloud and on premise.

The Arcot acquisition marks the sixth cloud-focused purchase for CA in a 14-month cloud computing spending spree that puts CA’s acquisition tally at around $1 billion.
