AT&T announced today that it has added HP to its network-enabled cloud ecosystem. AT&T customers will be able to use their Virtual Private Networks (VPN) to connect to HP Helion, a portfolio of cloud services, using AT&T NetBond(SM) . This integrated cloud solution can help enterprise customers overcome the barriers that exist for companies needing a highly secure, reliable and scalable connection to HP Helion.

AT&T NetBond creates a highly secure private path between a customer’s AT&T Virtual Private Network (VPN) and a cloud service provider, like HP. It flexes and scales network resources dynamically as a company’s cloud computing needs change. "IDC’s research underscores the importance of the network dimension of cloud enablement and enterprises’ increasing interest in vendors that can deliver a more secure, optimized cloud solution," said Melanie Posey with IDC. "AT&T has established leadership in this domain by combining its impressive ecosystem of leading cloud solution providers with highly secure cloud connectivity options."…

AT&T NetBond uses patented technology and helps businesses dynamically connect to HP services from any location on their private corporate networks. This gives HP customers who use the service the reliability, speed, protections and performance of AT&T’s global network. It also offers the simplicity, flexibility and cost efficiency of the cloud.

"Business customers want high-speed connectivity and rock-solid security protecting vital data and applications in the cloud," said Andy Geisse, CEO, AT&T Business Solutions. "With HP and other major cloud providers joining our growing NetBond ecosystem, we are leading the movement to make cloud computing more attractive for the many enterprise buyers who demand security, performance, flexibility and quality of service."

AT&T NetBond offers the following customer benefits:

— Simple: Seamlessly works with existing AT&T VPN through APIs creating an
automated experience. Customers don’t need to order or manage any other
equipment or access lines.

— Savings: Network elasticity that automatically flexes with the needs of
the cloud service. Companies can save as much as 60 percent on networking
costs.

— Performance: Delivers as much as 50 percent lower latency and 3x the
availability when compared with the public Internet.

— Security: Isolates traffic going directly to cloud platforms using the

AT&T private global network, providing more protections from risks such as DDoS attacks.

"To be successful in today’s digital world, organizations must overcome the security challenges of increasingly complex IT environments," said Martin Fink, executive vice president and chief technology officer, HP. "By integrating HP Helion with AT&T NetBond, we’re giving enterprises new choices to take advantage of our cloud with added confidence."

AT&T and HP expect these capabilities to be available to customers in the first quarter of 2015.

The AT&T NetBond ecosystem has a wide-range of customers in industries like health care, manufacturing, retail and government.
