Asus and FarEastone of Taiwan Tie Up in Cloud Storage Biz

To further develop business in cloud computing, Asustek Computer Inc. (Asus brand) recently announced a partnership with Taiwan’s telecom carrier FarEastone Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (FarEastone) to promote the “Super Cloud" storage services for enterprise subscribers, with Asus aiming for 10 million cloud storage users this year.

Jonney Shih, Asus chairman, says the era of cloud-computing has come to enable everyone to simultaneously own computing devices as personal computers (PCs), cellphones and tablet PCs etc., with cloud storage services synchronizing data and notes for users. Quoting statistics compiled by a market intelligence firm, Shih said that by 2016, the mobile-office population is expected to reach 1.7 billion people to create unlimited business potential.

Douglas Hsu, chairman of Fareastone, said that the cloud storage services could satisfy consumers` data storage requirements anytime and anywhere, also hoping the Asus-FarEastone tie-up can duplicate the success in Taiwan elsewhere…
