Armor Integrates with Amazon Web Services Security Hub at Launch
November 30, 2018Armor, a leading cloud security solutions provider, announced today that it continues to expand its work with cloud-native solutions with the recent integration of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Hub with its Armor Anywhere service.
This move allows Armor to deliver deeper security insights and context to AWS customers by feeding vulnerability scan and malware detection information into the AWS Security Hub data repository. AWS Security Hub provides users with a comprehensive view of their high-priority security alerts and compliance status by aggregating, organizing, and prioritizing alerts, or findings, from multiple AWS services, such as Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector, and Amazon Macie as well as from AWS Partner Network (APN) security solutions. The findings are then visually summarized on integrated dashboards with actionable graphs and tables.
As a result of the integration, users of the Armor Anywhere service will now be able to receive alerts for high-priority vulnerability and malware information via the AWS Security Hub user interface. In addition, Armor’s threat prevention and response platform can analyze findings fed into AWS Security Hub by the customer’s other security solutions to further bolster their threat detection and overall security defenses.
By forwarding only the most critical information to AWS Security Hub, Armor allows customers to save both time and money by focusing on only the security events that pose the greatest risk to their organizations.
"Integrating Armor Anywhere work with AWS security Hub can simplify security for AWS users who want to quickly ascertain the security posture of their cloud environment and receive immediate notification, context, and response by the Armor security operations center (SOC) around the top cyber threats facing their organizations," said Wayne Reynolds, CSO of Armor.
Recognizing the benefits the Armor Anywhere integration with AWS Security Hub can bring to its organization, longtime Armor client Presidiohealth is serving as the Armor AWS Security Hub launch customer. Presidiohealth is a leading provider of next generation performance management services to emergency departments, free standing ERs and physician groups in the U.S.
"The integration of Armor Anywhere with AWS Security Hub will allow our team to have a single, up-to-the-minute view into the most critical security events occurring within our cloud workloads, allowing us to focus on the really important cyber activity," said Presidiohealth founder Douglas Evans, M.D. "Between Armor’s security experts and technology, AWS’s cloud solutions, and our in-house security team, I am confident we are providing our customers with the upmost in security protection."
Armor Anywhere delivers managed security and compliance on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances, consolidating some of the best-of-breed security tools and providing unified visibility and control. It also integrates with Amazon CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail. Users can interact with these solutions through the Armor Management Portal, which provides self-service capabilities, automation, and APIs to integrate Armor’s security into a customer’s application development workflows.
Once installed on an Amazon EC2 instance, the Armor Anywhere agent provides:
- intrusion detection
- anti-malware protection
- log collection and management
- file integrity monitoring
- vulnerability scanning
- patch monitoring
In addition to what the Armor agent provides, the Armor Anywhere service features 24/7/365 monitoring from its Security Operations Center, threat hunting for active defense, and integrated response.
"Cloud adoption is rising but doing so safely still means managing and securing data," said Reynolds. "Our goal at Armor is to simplify and lessen the burden of defending your data and workloads by sharing that responsibility and reducing the risks threatening corporate data wherever it resides."
