Apple New York event to focus on cloud computing?

Apple is set to announce further products in its cloud computing portfolio, according to reports released this week.
Sources “close to the situation” told All Things D the company would hold an event for the media in New York at the end of this month, but details of exactly what would be announced have been thin on the ground.
However, it has been revealed Eddy Cue, senior vice president of internet software and services at Apple, will be hosting the event – otherwise known as the guy who reports to CEO Tim Cook on cloud initiatives such as Apple’s iCloud…
We contacted Apple to try and confirm the rumours, but unsurprisingly it did not return our request at the time of publication.
Apple’s iCloud was launched back in October, after first being unveiled at the firm’s WWDC conference in June. It offers users of iPhones, iPads, iPods and Macs the ability to store music, applications and photos in the cloud, whilst also backing up email, calendars and contacts.
Customers can then access their data from any of their Apple products, removing the lock in to a single device.
