Datica announced its fourth product, the Cloud Compliance Management System (CCMS). The new product completes Datica’s suite of offerings focused on the two most difficult technology problems for digital health: cloud compliance and health data interoperability.

The dynamic nature of the cloud has greatly outpaced existing compliance tools available to developers. The modern cloud is no longer simply someone else’s computer but is now a constellation of managed services delivered as software that sits on top of the leading cloud service providers, like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.

API-Driven Continuous Compliance

On Thursday of last week, VMware closed its acquisition of CloudHealth Technologies, extending cloud management beyond VMware’s previous capabilities in private and hybrid cloud and into the public cloud.  VMware partners will soon be able to offer the cloud management platform as an integrated offering to their clients.  While terms of the deal weren’t discussed, Reuters put the price tag at approximately $500 million.

WhiteHat’s annual study was published in partnership with NowSecure, providers of automated mobile app security testing; and Coalfire, providers of cyber risk management and compliance services for public and private enterprises.

One of the greatest concerns discovered by these methods, alongside WhiteHat’s application security testing, is that with few exceptions, the number of serious vulnerabilities per site has increased across all major industries, despite some improvements in finance, healthcare and retail. Unfortunately, these verticals are still struggling with long windows of exposure combined with very high times to fix, which has driven up security risk levels compared with last year’s report.
