Grazed from Armor Announcement.

Armor, the leader in active cyber defense, today announced that Jared Day has been promoted to the role of president and Sury Suryanarayanan has joined the company as senior vice president of Engineering. As members of the executive leadership team, both Day and Suryanarayanan will lead the development and execution of Armor’s corporate and product strategy.

Day moves into the role of Armor president after serving in the roles of Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer over the last few years. In his new role, he will be responsible for setting company-wide priorities and implementing cross-functional processes to ensure consistent execution.

Prior to joining Armor in June 2013, Day spent more than eight years with the Boston Consulting Group as a principal in the firm’s Corporate Development practice where he helped private equity-backed companies develop and execute growth strategies. Prior to his role at Boston Consulting, he served as the CFO of Firstdoor, a SaaS provider in the human capital management industry. With an M.B.A. in Finance, Strategy and Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. in Management from Washington and Lee University, Day is focused on deploying the company’s resources effectively so that Armor can maintain its leading position in the cyber security industry.

As the newest member of Armor’s executive team, Suryanarayanan will provide leadership and oversight for the software engineering, cloud architecture and quality assurance teams. With more than 30 years of product development experience, Suryanarayanan has a proven track record of delivering engineering excellence, while managing product teams who are dispersed across geographic locations. Prior to joining Armor, he served as group vice president for Product Operations and Platform Engineering in the Desktop and Cloud Division at Citrix Systems, in addition to beginning his Citrix tenure as vice president of Engineering for the Security and Acceleration Group.

Prior to joining Citrix, Suryanarayanan led all hardware and software engineering efforts for campus and data center switching product lines at Juniper Networks, in addition to spending nine years at Cisco Systems in security, VoIP and access technology engineering roles. Suryanarayanan earned his M.S. in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Madras.

“I get really excited when thinking of the team that Armor is continuing to build. Jared has a strong business acumen that is fact-based and takes the entire organization into account with his decision making. Having him serve as President represents growth and evolution for Armor. Knowing he is at the helm will allow me to focus on the role of CEO, further touching the market by engaging with prospects, customers, analysts and industry participants. And, bringing on Sury to run engineering gives me great confidence that we can continue to execute on our vision by providing very meaningful outcomes for our customers.” — Chris Drake, Founder and CEO | Armor

“Armor is growing and evolving to meet the needs of our customers, and part of that evolution includes restructuring our leadership team to now include the role of president. The creation of this role allows us to focus on strategic execution while giving CEO Chris Drake the opportunity to continue to focus his attention on the market. I’m looking forward to taking on this new role and working hand-in-hand with Chris and the entire leadership team to elevate Armor even further in 2016 and beyond.” — Jared Day, President | Armor

“Armor’s vision in delivering best-in-class managed security, coupled with the company’s commitment to its employees and customers, was an important factor when choosing to join the team. I’m looking forward to working alongside the Armor team to create innovative products and services that allow our customers to continuously remain one step ahead of the attack.” — Sury Suryanarayanan, SVP of Engineering | Armor
