UK-based managed service provider (MSP) Vnetrix has deployed CA Technologies AppLogic software to reduce the launch time for hosted cloud services from weeks to hours and is helping global customers, Universal Music and Atkins, to benefit from cloud-based operations.

Vnetrix is leveraging the CA Technologies AppLogic turnkey cloud computing platform to drive Business Service Innovation by reducing time-to-market for new business services, while simultaneously increasing margin.

CA AppLogic application-centric cloud platform allows users to turn an application and the infrastructure that supports it into a single manageable object…

The benefit of the CA AppLogic platform is that once the cloud is built and ready, new servers can be deployed in anything from minutes to a few hours, avoiding the process to order new servers or to go through a whole new build process.

CA AppLogic platform helps Universal Music to support the high volume, public-facing artist sites for Universal Music Japan and internal applications, including running a critical part of its ecommerce supply chain for European teams.

Vnetrix CEO Rob Norman said Vnetrix chose the cloud platform based on its fast deployment capabilities, support for both Windows and Linux environments, and the vendor neutrality of CA Technologies.

"Using the CA AppLogic platform we can rapidly build new cloud applications for our clients, without involving an army of people," said Norman.

CA Technologies Cloud Solutions director Justine Harris said CA Technologies revolutionary cloud platform enables Vnetrix to deliver differentiated cloud services.

"The CA AppLogic platform eliminates a major obstacle in accessing true cloud computing technology: the binding of software to hardware. This allows Vnetrix to deploy and scale customer applications without changing code and architecture so that the company can rapidly deliver IaaS and PaaS solutions," said Harris.
