UKCloud, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave assured cloud services company announces that it is offering its public sector and healthcare customers Cloud Storage or Disaster Recovery to the Cloud services completely free for three months. Open to both existing and new customers, the promotion applies to all orders for new workloads placed by 31 March 2018.

"With many of our customers facing budgetary challenges over the remainder of this financial year, we wanted to do all that we could to assist their transition to the cloud," said Simon Hansford, CEO of UKCloud. "Not only does this promotion offer excellent value, but our multi-cloud platform with flexible contractual arrangements means that public sector organisations can migrate to the cloud quickly and realise the tremendous costs savings of cloud computing without fear of lock-in."

Cloud Storage from UKCloud is a secure and highly adaptable object storage service designed to address a wide variety of use cases. The service offers a great backup destination due to the service being natively optimised in terms of scale, resilience and accessibility, with the platform being highly resilient against disk failure whilst providing vast scale potential. Utilising Cloud Storage from UKCloud means that our customers can eliminate the need for backup infrastructure, reducing the time and size of backups, leading to reductions in cost. UKCloud’s Cloud Storage can also be utilised as a shared repository for customers, whilst also centralising their document management solutions to encourage collaborative working. This can lead to even further cost efficiencies for organisations as they are able to minimise capacity on primary storage that is expensive, yet seldom active.

Cloud Storage from UKCloud leverages the strengths of Dell EMC’s Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) to provide natively-optimised cloud storage. As Jacques Boschung, Senior Vice President for EMEA Alliances from Dell EMC explains: "In the hands of the truly innovative cloud service providers in our partner ecosystem, such as UKCloud, Elastic Cloud Storage provides unmatched scalability, flexibility and resiliency. ECS also enables UKCloud’s public sector customers to maximise the value of their data, whether working with traditional or next-generation workloads, or both together."

UKCloud is committed to helping UK Public Sector organisations achieve their business outcomes; the ability to maintain business continuity, and minimise disruption to citizen facing services in the event of a disaster. UKCloud’s Disaster Recovery to the Cloud can offer customers peace of mind by utilising the secure platform as a failover site for their workloads that may reside either on-premise or in Crown Hosting datacentres. Disaster Recovery to the Cloud can also offer protection against ransomware attacks and mitigate the impact from failed software updates or malicious attacks by rolling a VM back to a clean state. The Disaster Recovery service allows customers to simulate a disaster and validate business continuity plans, thus eliminating disruption of live workloads or risk of data loss.

"UKCloud is a trusted collaborator for public sector organisations looking to embrace cloud technology, and we are proud UKCloud has selected Zerto’s IT Resilience Platform for its DRaaS offering," said Ed Owen, Head of Cloud Sales, EMEA at Zerto. "By combining Zerto’s enterprise-class disaster recovery, data protection and workload mobility technology with UKCloud’s expert market knowledge, public sector organisations can achieve continuous availability of data and services for constituents, as well as multi-cloud flexibility and agility."

The promotion is limited to UKCloud’s Cloud Storage and Disaster Recovery to the Cloud services with conditions available on request. Further details can be found at https://ukcloud.com/promotion
