ViON Corporation, a market leader in the design, delivery and maintenance of mission-critical IT infrastructure solutions, announced today it has been awarded a three-year, $1.4 million contract for public cloud acquisition services by the Department of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The contract will serve the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) development environment by streamlining the transition to the Microsoft Azure Government Cloud and providing Capacity as-a-Service (CaaS).

“Being chosen to support DISA’s move to public cloud underscores the market’s need for a more flexible procurement method and ViON’s ongoing success with the as-a-Service model. We have a long history and expertise implementing on-premise cloud and this extends our portfolio to public as well,” said Tom Frana, CEO of ViON. “Our project management team brings more than 16 years experience facilitating cloud migrations, ensuring a seamless transition for all our customers, regardless of workloads.”

This new contract will allow DISA to focus more resources on mission goals while ViON manages the transition to the public cloud and testing of new hardware in a secure environment. It was procured by DISA through the NASA Solutions for Enterprise-wide Procurement (SEWP) V Government Wide Acquisition Contract. The principal purpose of the SEWP V contracts is to provide government agencies with state-of-the-art computer technologies, high-end scientific and engineering processing capabilities, network equipment and peripherals.
