CloudConnect Announces Release of DesktopConfig 3.6 with Citrix Adaptive Transport

CloudConnect, a leader in Cloud Infrastructure technology and application delivery, announced today that it has released version 3.6 of CloudConnect’s DesktopConfig.
CloudConnect announced release of the latest version of its Cloud deployment tool. DesktopConfig manages lifecycle management and provides tight integration with Microsoft Windows, augmenting Citrix to include items such as common bug fixes, workarounds, and reliability of the Current Release XenApp track. With DesktopConfig, CloudConnect enables customers of Citrix technologies to realize the full benefits of Citrix and the XenApp Long Term Service Release.
CloudConnect’s release of DesktopConfig 3.6 includes many updates and additions, including compatibility with Citrix XenApp and Adaptive Transport. Adaptive Transport is a new data transport mechanism designed by Citrix for XenApp and XenDesktop. By increasing the responsiveness and performance of software applications, it improves application performance and greatly broadens the geographic reach for CloudConnect end users.
Adaptive Transport is available for new and existing Citrix deployments on the CloudConnect platform. The result is that applications running on CloudConnect are faster and more scalable, improving the end-user experience by enhancing application interactivity.
According to Citrix, using Adaptive Transport enables ICA virtual channels to respond to changing network conditions, automatically switching the underlying protocol between the new Enlightened Data Transport (EDT) and TCP to deliver the best performance. It improves data throughput for all ICA virtual channels including Thinwire display remoting, file transfer (Client Drive Mapping), printing, and multimedia redirection.
