ZeroStack, a one-stop shop for hybrid cloud infrastructure that delivers agility without complexity, today announced that it is the first to build capabilities that enterprises expect for OpenStack-based hybrid cloud to support applications in production. The key functions now in the ZeroStack Cloud Platform include:

  • Virtual machine (VM) high availability
  • Workload placement policies
  • Data protection
  • Support for external storage
  • zApp store delivering single-click application deployment – part of the click and go model

These developments, coupled with ZeroStack’s self-healing software, make the ZeroStack Cloud Platform the only complete enterprise-ready OpenStack-based hybrid cloud solution.

Enterprises are looking to OpenStack to satisfy their cloud computing requirements, but they don’t want to train their IT staff on OpenStack technology and they want to be sure solutions meet their reliability needs. ZeroStack’s turnkey, self-healing Cloud Platform delivers full OpenStack functionality without IT operational burden, and now, with enterprise capabilities including integration of TrilioVault, the solution delivers what enterprises demand for production applications.

“The market continues to build momentum behind OpenStack, but enterprises demand HA and data protection features that can help to eliminate downtime,” said Dr. Jim Metzler, principal analyst at Ashton, Metzler & Associates. “Vendors like ZeroStack are now integrating these important capabilities, and this will accelerate enterprise adoption of OpenStack-based clouds.”

“Last year, ZeroStack brought plug-and-play, self-serve AWS-like consumption to enterprise clouds with its fully-integrated Cloud Platform, and now, we have become the first to offer enterprise capabilities in an OpenStack-based cloud,” said Deep Bhattacharjee, head of product management at ZeroStack. “With this announcement, ZeroStack is making OpenStack mature for enterprises by eliminating one of the key barriers to broad adoption.”
