Canonical is excited to announce that Akanda has joined the Charm Partner Programme (CPP). Canonical’s CPP helps solution providers make best use of Canonical’s universal service modeling tool, Juju; enabling instant workload deployment, integration, and scaling with a click of a mouse. The Juju Charm Store has over 300 cloud based applications ready to be used on most public and private clouds, as well as bare metal servers.

Akanda is the main contributor to the OpenStack project Astara, which they will be charming as part of the CPP. It is the leading open source network orchestration solution built by OpenStack operators for real OpenStack clouds. Astara eliminates the need for complex SDN controllers, overlays and multiple plugins for cloud networking by providing a simple integrated networking stack (routing, firewall, load balancing) for connecting and securing multitenant OpenStack environments.

“Making Astara available via Canonical’s Juju Charm Store is welcome news for anyone deploying an OpenStack cloud,” said Henrik Rosendahl, CEO, Akanda. “Astara drastically simplifies OpenStack networking and offers unprecedented instantiation, visibility into the network and operational stability for OpenStack cloud developers and service providers. Partnering with Canonical allows Astara to reach even more OpenStack operators and enable them to quickly see how the open source network orchestration platform can make their workday that much easier.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Akanda to the Charm Partner Programme,” said Ron Bassett, Director of Cloud Alliances at Canonical. “The addition of Astara to our Juju Charm Store further strengthens our OpenStack ecosystem, and will offer our users an easy to deploy solution for highly scalable, secure, multitenant private cloud network infrastructure. “
