Zentera Systems, Inc., today announced that its CoIP (Cloud over IP) platform is now supporting secure hybrid cloud networking for Docker containers across the cloud ecosystem.  The CoIP images are available from Docker’s community registry.

Containers simplify software development and deployment across multiple domains – what Docker refers to as, "Build, Ship, Run" – because containers package an application with all of its dependencies into a standardized unit for software development.

"Enabling containers to connect using CoIP is the obvious next step for Zentera," said Dr. Jaushin Lee, President and CEO of Zentera. "This adds to our existing offerings for the OpenStack ecosystem, which we support in addition to the public cloud and enterprise datacenter ecosystems.  Now, the OpenStack community can conveniently incorporate CoIP secure networking capabilities in a container-based cloud infrastructure."

CoIP offers enterprise-grade security on its hybrid cloud overlay networks, connecting and protecting a company’s compute resources while shielding applications and data.  CoIP is architected to work with existing corporate perimeter firewall infrastructure without any change.  It is centrally controlled by the enterprise, and is a closed, private network that is securely shielded for specifically allowed application resources.
