The potential benefits of Big Data for an organisation’s efficiency and bottom-line will be a particular focus of the upcoming GCC BIG DATA SUMMIT – taking place in Dubai during March 2015.

Regional public and private sector organisations already implementing Big Data solutions have signed up to present case studies of their experiences in generating growth from emerging analytics technologies. They consist of international and local thought-leaders from the telecommunications, airline, energy, utilities, healthcare, banking and retail industries.

The Summit’s Speaker panel accordingly includes senior representatives of Etisalat, Injazat Data Systems, DU Telecoms, Halliburton, ADNOC, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Gulf Air, ADWEA, Emirates Group, Etihad Airways, Daman Health Insurance and Mobily. This senior-management-only GCC forum has been designed for CEO and COO level participants – just as much as for CTOs and CIOs. It will take place at Dubai’s Address Marina Hotel from March 8-10…

“The ‘early-bird’ pricing for delegates has already attracted many initial registrants,” commented Kumar Ramanujam, Director of Conferences for the Summit’s organisers TMC of Dubai. “The regular two day conference pass is US $ 1727 – but until January 20, we are offering a special price of $1199 per head.”

Ramanujam added that similar early-bird rates applied to the two specialist masterclasses being held on March 8, immediately before the main event. “Savings will be over a thousand dollars for anyone wanting to take both masterclasses as well as the conference itself.”

He emphasised how much value delegates will get from the experience of the internationally respected speakers.

“These are all Business Intelligence leaders in their own sectors. They justify their prestigious roles for top international companies through their ability to use Big Data to predict and deliver better services, better productivity – and an enhanced rate of return!”

Middle Eastern Governments are currently pioneering the use of business analytics and technology to better serve citizens – none more so than authorities across the UAE. The years 2015 – 2017 will see major decisions made on investments in Big Data concepts throughout public and private sector GCC organisations, according to the Summit’s Advisory Board.

Advisory Board member Dr Dirk Jungnickel, Senior VP of Business Analytics at DU (Emirates Integrated Telecommunications), said: “ I see a huge difference between what is important today for Google, Apple, Amazon and the like, and Middle East newcomers.

“Google and co have the advantage of many years’ experience in Big Data, and have harvested nearly all ‘low hanging (BD analytics) fruits’ ” he stressed. “Contrast this with the smart followers one will find in our region, embarking only now on this important journey.”

Dr Jungnickel concluded: “I believe that a broader audience (including me) would like to learn what steps one should take on such a journey to develop the necessary skills and capabilities – while also learning from the early movers which short-cuts might be possible.”

The full conference programme, with speakers’ topics, is available on the GCC BIG DATA & ANALYTICS SUMMIT website, www.gccbigdata.com or from the organisers on info@tmc-me.com.
