Oracle has revealed details of its planned products for private and public cloud computing.

Rex Wang, Oracle vice president of infrastructure and management, explained that businesses are looking to save money in regards to their data centres and stated that his company believes they can be encouraged to move from silo models to the cloud.

He said that clients will want to switch between public and private clouds, with Oracle offering the option to do this, reports Reseller News.

It will also allow its technology to be deployed in third-party public cloud computing spaces.

"We’re enabling customers to move their workloads around between these internal environments and these private clouds," Mr Wang explained.

According to a recent study from analyst Gartner, cloud computing technology is going to have a massive impact on the IT industry in the next decade.

It was predicted that its effects on vertical industries will be far larger than the changes that the internet has had on the music industry.
