Camwood debuts cloud-based application lifecycle management

Camwood has launched Application Lifecycle Manager, a cloud-based service to help application teams monitor application usage.

The service provides real time information on the status of a single application, groups of applications or an application portfolio, aggregating information on application usage and costs.

Camwood says the product is proving a key component for software-optimisation perspective, claiming it can help organisations save up to 20% of their desktop licensing cost.

Currently in use at Tube lines, BAE Systems, Babcock and Santander and others, Camwood plans to continue to add functionality to its Application Lifecycle Manager (ALM), with future releases to include an interface into license management and sustainability data.

Bhadresh Sachania, head of PMO for Tube Lines commented: "Camwood ALM provides immediate and accurate visibility on the status of all our applications, enabling us to understand how they are being used and by whom. It also highlights the application interdependencies that exist, enabling us to plan our migrations effectively."
