As once common objections and concerns around moving to the cloud (such as security) begin to wane, organizations are identifying and prioritizing their IT and business initiatives that might benefit most from a cloud deployment. Business intelligence and analytics is one of those key initiatives. Within the next few years, it is predicted that cloud will be the preferred delivery mechanism for analytics.

On-Demand Cloud Computing Stats Revealed

On-demand cloud computing is estimated to create 3.8 million jobs and generate up to £197 billion to European Union CDP by 2020. This is according to research from the European Commission. A report published by ITProPortal says this displays just how important on-demand cloud computing is in addressing demands for agility and growth in business.

This cloud model allows organisations to access a pool of configurable resources, including servers, application and storage. It means businesses can access services in a flexible and pay-as-you-go manner, instead of purchasing hardware and licenses outright. The business benefits of using the cloud are multiple.
