Centrify takes unified identity management into the cloud and out to mobile devices

Grazed from NetworkWorld. Author: Linda Musthaler.

In the 2013 version of the annual Gartner Executive Program survey, more than 2,000 CIOs in 41 countries identified their top 10 technology priorities for the year. The survey showed that analytics and business intelligence ranks No.1, with mobile technologies and cloud computing (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) coming in at Nos. 2 and 3. CIOs are looking to these digital technologies to help their companies achieve business results.

While the focus of these technologies is on how to use them to boost business, the underlying IT concerns are still there. How will we secure our data on mobile devices and in the cloud? How will we know who is using our resources? How can we manage these diverse technologies effectively and efficiently? They are the same questions companies ask themselves over and over again as they grapple with increasingly complex and disparate infrastructures and a multitude of mobile devices accessing applications on-premise and in the cloud...

Using multi-cloud management software to juggle cloud providers

Grazed from TechTarget. Author: Beth Pariseau.

Enterprises that want a choice between cloud service providers have several multi-cloud management software offerings to choose from, though workload migrations after initial deployments remain rare. Vendors such as RightScale Inc. and CliQr Technologies Inc. offer multi-cloud management software, which gives users the ability to deploy workloads without modification to different clouds, as well as the ability to move workloads between clouds at will.

We don't have to tie up to any particular cloud. We can basically profile to see which one is providing the best performance for the best cost and then we can direct our customers to that. Enterprise IT pros who have put these products into production said that, so far, they have helped them migrate workloads to their choice of cloud service providers...

Grazed from PRWeb.  Author: PR Announcement.

Cloud vendor, Giva, today announced a significant new standalone cloud product release for ITIL change management for Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) compliance for IT service management.

With all of the demands imposed by SOX compliance and other industry specific compliance policies such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), there is a very high demand for IT change management software in the cloud. Giva is the only vendor that provides standalone cloud IT change management software. Many vendors provide IT change management software, but they are highly integrated with IT service desk incident and problem management modules. The problem is that many organizations already have such systems in place and only need the functionality of IT change management. Also, these integrated systems are expensive, difficult to customize and very complex to use...

Datadog SaaS App Unifies IT Management Dashboards

Grazed from IT Business Edge. Author: Michael Vizard.

An IT organization of any size spends a lot of time looking at myriad dashboards tied to specific products and services in the hope that some larger truth will eventually make itself apparent. Of course, that rarely happens, which is why Datadog, a provider of a software-as-a-service (SaaS) application for monitoring and analyzing IT infrastructure resources, has released Screenboards to unify the key performance indicators for IT organizations under a single set of dashboards.

According to Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel, the problem most organizations experience is that when it comes to managing IT, every new product added comes with a new set of tools for managing it. That creates not only a challenge in terms of all the people needed to manage all those different technologies, it requires IT organizations to dedicate IT infrastructure to run each of those tools...
