VMware Simplifies Modern Data Center and Hybrid Cloud Environments through Updates to vRealize Cloud Management Platform

VMware, Inc. announced new releases across its integrated VMware vRealize cloud management platform (CMP) that will make it easier for customers to implement, use, and manage hybrid cloud environments. Guided by customer feedback, the new updates to the vRealize platform will combine to simplify how customers innovate and enable IT governance through new ‘self-driving' operations capabilities that optimize workload performance and capacity across their hybrid clouds as well as through new and enhanced IT automation and productivity capabilities.

The new product releases -- Realize Operations 6.7, vRealize Automation 7.4, vRealize Business for Cloud 7.4, vRealize Orchestrator 7.4, vRealize Log Insight 4.6 and vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 1.2 -- will come together in the VMware vRealize Suite to enable customers to manage and provision compute, network, storage and application services across hybrid cloud environments at scale. The new operations, automation and lifecycle management features and enhancements across the integrated platform are designed to provide customers with faster overall time to value, improved ease of use, and increased control of VMware's software-defined data center (SDDC) stack.

VMware Introduces Major Update for Integrated Hybrid Cloud Platform

VMware, Inc. today unveiled VMware Cloud Foundation 2.3, which will be the latest release of its integrated hybrid cloud platform. VMware Cloud Foundation 2.3 introduces integrated cloud management platform (CMP) capabilities that will provide customers with a simplified path to building a hybrid cloud based on consistent infrastructure and operations. The platform will deliver management and provisioning of compute, network, storage and application services at scale across hybrid cloud environments via integrations with VMware vRealize Automation, vRealize Operations and vRealize Log Insight.

In response to the ever-increasing demand for faster innovation, customers are embracing more agile, service-oriented IT models that rely on both private and public clouds. In a 2016 VMware customer survey, 60 percent of enterprise customers polled stated they are using a public cloud. VMware Cloud Foundation delivers to customers a direct path to the hybrid cloud by providing them a common infrastructure that can be deployed on-premises or run as a service from the cloud with a consistent operational experience across clouds.

Morpheus Data Optimizes Multi-Cloud Deployments and Unifies Ops Teams

Today, Morpheus Data announced a major software release which brings predictive analytics to cloud management and enables end-to-end app lifecycle management in multi-cloud hybrid IT environments.

Research indicates that total enterprise spending on public cloud services is expected to continue to grow at double digits over the coming years. RightScale Estimates Companies to Waste More Than $10 Billion in Cloud Spending Over the Next Year

"Cloud providers claim they are getting better at helping companies reduce some of their cloud spending. For example, AWS recently claimed it saved AWS users $500 million by alerting customers when they were overpaying," said Kim Weins, VP of Cloud Cost Strategy at RightScale. "Unfortunately, this is just a drop in the bucket. RightScale has seen that companies waste, on average, 35 percent of their cloud spend. This equates to $6.4 billion in annualized wasted cost for AWS alone. Tripwire's Cloud Management Assessor Now Supports Microsoft Azure

Announced earlier this year, with initial focus on supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments, Cloud Management Assessor helps organizations strengthen their cybersecurity and maintain compliance, and it now allows users to scan and assess the configuration states of their Azure environments.

OnApp automates workflow management for enterprise private clouds

GigaSpaces Plans Spinoff of Cloudify Division to Focus on Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Management and Network Orchestration
