Quali Introduces SaaS Cloud Management Platform CloudShell Colony for Accelerating DevOps

Quali announced CloudShell Colony - a software-as-a-service (SaaS) cloud management platform for DevOps. CloudShell Colony automates DevOps environments all the way from development to production, while allowing IT and project managers to govern the use of cloud resources from a single pane of glass.  

This announcement follows the recent news highlighting Quali's $22.5 million Series-C funding round in December 2018. CloudShell Colony initially being released as controlled availability (CA) software equips DevOps teams, developers and testers with reusable application environments on public clouds such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure with support for Kubernetes deployments. Quali is providing varying levels of the solution based on company size.

"Setting up environments is error prone, time consuming and difficult to automate and troubleshoot. It's even more challenging to do it in a scalable way that would serve more than one team, including team members who know nothing about infrastructure, and still work seamlessly with the CI/CD pipeline," said Lior Koriat, CEO of Quali. Zyxel Expands Performance and Flexibility of Nebula Cloud Management Solution

Zyxel Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet access and connected home products, today announced the expansion of its versatile, high-performance Nebula Cloud Network Management Solution with the addition of two new tri-mode access points, a host of additional cloud management features, and a security gateway. SolarWinds Introduces Inside Out View into Cloud Environments

For example, if support gets a call that a web application is not letting users log in, a DevOps team can open the Pingdom (user experience) dashboard to see the login page has turned red and when the outage began. Jumping over to the metrics views in AppOptics (metrics), the DevOps team sees it's not a problem with the website response time, therefore not a performance issue, but in the detail view they notice the HTTP status codes are red. Next, the DevOps team uses AppOptics (traces) to trace one of the failed requests and discovers the web application was trying to make a connection to a backend service, but there was an issue with the DNS entry. The DevOps team then jumps over to Papertrail (logs) or Loggly (logs) to see the log data. Here they can filter down to the application host and view when the outage started, discovering the service was stopped. With this insight, the DevOps team can quickly restart the service and get the web application up and running.
