Cybersecurity Practices to Consider in 2019

As the years have gone by, cyber crimes have been on the rise. This has forced businesses to become savvier online and learn about how to protect themselves on the internet. This can seem like an impossible task taking into consideration the lack of monitoring that's present on the internet. However, it is vital that you learn how you can do so If you don't want to have to deal with the chaos that comes along with data breaches and cyber threats. On that note, seeing as a new year has quickly arrived, here are some cybersecurity practices that you can consider trying.

Use a Firewall

A cybersecurity best practice that you should take into consideration is using a firewall if you don't already. If you don't know what a firewall is, on the other hand, it's a program or device that filters information that's coming through the internet connection into your private network. Setting up a firewall can help create a barrier between your data and cybercriminals. In addition to external firewalls, you also have the option of installing internal ones as well as they provide added protection.

In the case that you have any employees working from home, make sure they install a firewall on their network as well. Alternatively, provide software and support for home networks to ensure compliance.

This clustering technology will also be adapted and optimized for enhanced operations in the cloud. At the same time, cloud service providers will continue to advance their ability to provide higher service levels, leading to the cloud ultimately becoming the preferred platform for all enterprise applications.

SnapLogic Named a Leader in Strategic iPaaS and Hybrid Integration Platforms by Independent Research Firm

SnapLogic, provider of the #1 intelligent integration platform, today announced that Forrester Research has named it a Leader in "The Forrester Wave: Strategic iPaaS and Hybrid Integration Platforms, Q1 2019." Mobile Apps Dominate Public Cloud Workloads

The workload most commonly moved to a public Cloud consist of mobile apps, according to 66% of Cloud developers in Evans Data's newly released Cloud Development Survey.  The survey, conducted in early December 2018 among active Cloud developers, also found that workloads vary between public, private and hybrid Cloud systems.  While mobile apps were cited significantly more often than others for public Clouds, database, security, and backend services were virtually tied for top workloads for private Clouds and IoT was most commonly mentioned for Hybrid Clouds.

When it comes to the business motivations for selecting a particular Cloud offering, agility was mentioned by 45% of the respondents and time to value for analytical initiatives was cited by 43%.  Agility and time to value for analytical initiatives both juggle two key considerations in terms of timeliness and insight. Whereas agility allows a business to quickly pivot to address changing needs and opportunities, quicker time to value not only means that development platforms will provide information quickly, but also that organizations will be able to receive the business insights that inform their ability to forecast how their current strategy will perform in the short term and/or pivot their strategies to address changes in the market.

Intel Showcases New Technology for Next Era of Computing at CES 2019

Mobileye and Ordnance Survey will bring us closer to the realization of smart cities and safer roads.

Molex, Accenture and Amazon Web Services Co-Develop Edge Computing Solution Powering NextGen Autonomous Vehicles

Midmarket Businesses in the Americas Make Bold Move to the Cloud

The ISG Provider Lens Cloud Transformation/Operation Services & XaaS Report - Pan America finds many large enterprises are struggling to exchange their "legacy crown jewel" IT systems for more innovative business models. But smaller businesses see the cloud as offering them easily available and affordable tools, including analytics and cognitive computing, the report said.
